Job Summary
Performs responsible clerical work involving a variety of clerical tasks to support of the Board of Equalization (BoE); does related work as required. Temporary part-time position; Work is performed under regular supervision of the County Administrator or their designee.
Essential Job Functions
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. The County provides reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary functions herein described.
- Answers telephone and schedules citizens for reassessment hearings with the Board of Equalization (BoE);
- Schedules and notifies citizens of hearings with the BoE;
- Post public notice of hearings, advertises in local daily newspaper and post on county website;
- Directs visitors and citizens to appropriate staff member or location;
- Coordinates with Commissioner of Revenue staff regarding Board of Equalization matters;
- Researches and prepares reports for the BoE related to real estate records for their hearings;
- Researches adjacent property owner records and GIS mapping information to support the efforts of the BoE;
- Records minutes of hearings;
- Provides written notification of case rulings to appellants as necessary;
- Inputs data in computer files;
- Copies materials and maintains filing systems;
- Prepares timesheet for the BoE members for their signature;
- Performs related tasks as required.
Education and Experience
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by administrative work and office experience, including customer service.
Licenses or Certifications
None.
The Starting pay range for this FLSA non-exempt position is $19.50 per hour. The successful candidate must pass a pre-employment, post-offer drug screening and background check.
