The Shenandoah Community School District are accepting applications for Substitute Teachers.
Position Summary
-Provide daily classroom coverage for absent teachers in assigned grade levels/subject areas.
-Maintain a safe, respectful learning environment and enrure continuity of instruction.
-Follow district policies, school prodedures, adn the lesson plans provided.
Essential Duties and Responsibilites
-Follow written lesson plans and classroom routines left by the teacher.
-Deliver instruction, facilitate activitites, and support student learning as assigned.
-Maintain classroom mangement consistent with district expectations.
-Take attendance and complete required documentation (safety, discipline, medical issues).
-Communicate concerns promptly to the building office/administrator.
-Provide appropriate supervision in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, recess and during transitions.
-Use classroom technology and district systems as directed.
-Maintin a professional, respectful demeanor with students, staff, and families.
-Follow all safety procedures, including emergency drills and building protocols.
Minimum Qualifications
-Must hold or be eligible to obtain Subsitute Authorization or Substitute License according to the requirements of the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners (BOEE).
-High school diploma minum; additional education preferred (district may specify AA/BA/BS depending on needs).
-Relable attendance and punctuality.
Work Schedules & Assignment Detail
-On-call/as-neded; assignments may be half-day or full-day.
-Possible placements: preschool, elementary, middle school, high school.
-School days starts at 8:00am. Report time is at 7:45am.
-May accept jobs through Absence Management.

-$160.00/day
