Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and student-centered 7th Grade Math Teacher to join our middle school team for the upcoming academic year. The ideal candidate will foster a rigorous yet supportive learning environment where students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. You will be responsible for delivering a curriculum centered on ratios, proportional relationships, the number system, expressions and equations, geometry, and statistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Delivery: Plan and implement engaging, standards-aligned lessons (Common Core or State Standards) that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Data-Driven Instruction: Use formative and summative assessment data to differentiate instruction, provide targeted interventions, and track student growth.
- Classroom Management: Establish a positive, inclusive classroom culture with clear expectations and restorative practices.
- Collaboration: Actively participate in grade-level meetings and vertical alignment sessions with 6th and 8th-grade teams.
- Technology Integration: Utilize educational technology to enhance mathematical visualization and personalized learning.
- Communication: Maintain regular, proactive contact with parents/guardians regarding student progress and well-being.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Certification: Valid Iowa Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Middle School Mathematics (Grades 7).
- Skills: Strong mastery of middle-level math content and the ability to explain complex concepts in multiple ways.
