Job Summary:
Shema Kolainu-Hear Our Voices (SKHOV) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher EI to join our team in the Bronx, NY. As a Special Education Teacher EI, you will have the opportunity to work with young children aged 0-3 with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related developmental disabilities. Our mission is to hear the voices of the children and families we serve, and we strive to provide high-quality care and support to help them achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with ASD and related developmental disabilities
- Provide special education instruction and support to students in a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio
- Collaborate with therapists and other professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction and support as needed
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to share student progress and goals
- Participate in staff development and training to stay current on best practices in special education and autism treatment
- Master's degree in Special Education or related field
- New York State Teaching Certification in Special Education - Birth-Grade 2 or All Grades
- Experience working with young children with autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Bi-weekly salary: $70 - $90
- Our school is located in the Bronx, NY, and offers a supportive and collaborative work environment
- As a per diem employee, you will have the flexibility to choose your schedule and work arrangements
