As a Special Education Itinerant Teacher, you will work with students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related developmental disabilities in a community-based setting. Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized educational services to students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related developmental disabilities in a community-based setting
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each student
- Collaborate with families, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to student care
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education
- Master's degree in Special Education, Speech-Language Pathology, or related field
- Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related developmental disabilities
- Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including IDEA and NYS regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bi-lingual skills (English and Spanish or other languages) a plus
- Part-time and full-time opportunities available
- Flexible scheduling with some evenings and weekends required
- Occasional travel to Brooklyn and Bronx locations may be required
- $70 - $90 BI-WEEKLY
