IN DISTRICT ONLY:
Join us for our 2025-26 Summer School Program! We are looking for Para Educators (Elementary and Secondary) to support summer program through the supervision and instruction of students as well as providing general classroom assistance.
Interview Process: Applicants are encouraged to apply by the deadline of April 3rd, 2026. If selected for an interview, you will be invited to complete an Asynchronous Virtual Interview.
Location: Mountain View Elementary (Elementary) or Shelton High School (Secondary), dependent on assigned location
Dates: 6/22/2026 - 7/23/2026; (Monday through Thursday, no summer school on Fridays).
Hours: Elementary (8:00am - 12:30pm); Secondary (7:30am - 12:00pm)
Salary: Pay is according to the 2025-2026 Para Educator Pay Scale ($23.03 - $26.18 per hour) in the Education Support Personnel (ESP) Collective Bargaining Agreement; the step placement will be according to the successful candidate's current step. Time will be submitted on a timecard.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Overview
The Summer School Program provides targeted academic support to help students strengthen foundational skills. Paraeducators support instruction alongside teachers in elementary and secondary classrooms, working with small groups of students in a structured and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Current Para Educator in Shelton School District.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with staff, students, families, and the community.
- Ability to collaborate with other staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of employment.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance for the duration of the summer school program.
- Prior experience working with alternative education and Fuel Ed preferred (not required)
Salary : $23 - $26
