What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Controller - Electrical Transmission & Distribution Construction position at Shelton Energy Solutions?
This is a full-time on-site role located in Alexandria, LA, or Lafayette, LA for a Corporate Controller specializing in Electrical Transmission & Distribution Construction. The individual in this position will oversee financial reporting and compliance, manage budgeting and financial forecasting processes, and lead financial operations with a focus on accuracy and timeliness. Responsibilities include analyzing financial data, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, managing audits, and collaborating with management to align financial strategies with business goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee financial operations including AP/AR, job cost accounting, payroll, field credit card expenses and cash flow management Accounts Payable
- Develop and maintain the system of internal accounting controls and financial reporting Budgeting, forecasting and analysis
- Work Closely with Human Resources on Payroll Processing
- Work-In-Progress reporting & General Ledger
- Produce period financial statements
- Coordinate quarterly accounting reviews, annual audits, and tax returns
- Maintain state registrations, business, and tax licenses, etc.
- Determine depreciation rates to apply to capitalized items, and advise management on actions regarding the purchase, lease, or disposal of such items. Track or direct the tracking of said assets.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- 5-10 years construction accounting experience OR public audit experience of Construction companies
- BS / BA in accounting; CPA, MBA a plus but not required.
- Experience in job costing or cost accounting.
- Experience in Sage Intacct Construction ERP
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Highly motivated, exceptional work ethic and energetic team player.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Technology & Other
- Efficiently work in ERP and Payroll/HR Systems.
- Data analytics skills
- Proficient in various technology applications.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
