Fund Administration Analyst
Shelton Capital Management is seeking an Analyst to join our Fund Administration team. This role works closely with internal teams, custodians, administrators, auditors, and other service providers to ensure accurate reporting, portfolio reconciliations, financial reporting, and regulatory support. The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of experience in fund administration, fund accounting, asset management operations, or a related field, with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Shelton manages $7.2 billion in mutual funds, ETFs and separately managed account assets and serves as the Administrator to two 1940 Act trusts which comprise 19 mutual funds.
The position is based in downtown Denver, Colorado where Shelton’s primary offices are located. While Shelton has several employees working remotely, due to the detailed nature of this position and team, a candidate should expect this to be an in-office position.
Key responsibilities & duties include, but not limited to:
- Daily effort to build and develop positive work environment and strong company culture.
- General knowledge of GAAP and SEC filing requirements
- Detail oriented, ability to serve as second check for completeness and accuracy other on staff member’s work
- Aid in the management of vendors such as auditor, fund accounting and transfer agent.
- Assist in financial reporting process, including coordination of annual audits with independent accountants. Prepare and/or review annual and semi-annual reports and ensure compliance with GAAP reporting requirements. Prepare and/or review SEC filings (e.g., N-SAR, N-CEN, N-CSR, N-PORT, 24F-2, N-1A).
- Prepare and/or review quarterly materials including factsheets, presentations, Board reports for Board Meetings.
- Assist in mutual fund accounting, budgeting, and expense payments.
- Assist in the evolution of existing workflows, operational controls, and administrative/operational procedures.
- Other fund administration tasks as directed.
- Timely ad hoc requests as directed by Executive Team.
Ideal qualifications and experience:
- At least two to three years of experience in mutual fund operations and/or administration with increasing levels of responsibility
- Technical knowledge of mutual fund financial reporting, accounting and ’40 Act rules and regulations (including U.S. GAAP, Regulation S-X and Form N-1A requirements)
- Experience with SEC filing requirements
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Advent experience highly preferred
- Ability to work independently, with limited instruction, and take initiative on problem solving or outstanding projects
- Exemplifies highest level of professionalism and ethical standards
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple parallel projects and deadlines
- Commitment to quality control management
The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 annually, consistent with educational and work experience. Total compensation will include base salary, bonus potential, 401k match plus a full benefits package paid for by Shelton.
