Evening, Overnight, and Weekends Available
Shelters of Saratoga is hiring support staff for its winter emergency shelter program, Code Blue which provides shelter and food security for homeless adults from late October until April. In this role you will assist in the oversight of the shelter facility, guests and volunteers. This is a temporary position approximately 16 to 40 hours per week, shifts to vary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assure that perimeter checks are done on an hourly basis. Areas to be checked include outside the Code Blue building
- Prepare documentation of evening activities in Shift Notes Log
- Provide oversight and management of guest arrivals, departures and compliance with shelter rules
- Develop rapport with guests and assist in meeting their needs
- Maintain oversight of shelter and guest supply inventory, distribution and restocking
- Assist with dinner set-up and clean-up
- Perform housekeeping and other maintenance tasks as needed
- Role model positive, professional behavior including appearance and communication
- Communicate regularly with peers and managers in regards to policy and program development, volunteer supervision and management, and other duties to ensure safe and successful program operation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Clean driver’s license

- Ability to pass a background and pre-employment drug screen
- This is a winter shelter and the expectation is reliability in inclement weather
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift
