We are currently seeking a Temporary Manager, Health Information Management to join our team. This position is responsible for the management of the Health Information Management Department including:
- Supervision of records management for all of Sheltering Arms inpatient, outpatient and physician services
- Timely and accurate management of patient record systems and processes
- Staff development and departmental recruiting
- Strategic planning and oversight of related organizational initiatives
- Application of legal principles, policies, regulations and standards for the control and the use of protected health information
- Ensuring the services provided by the department meet the needs of both internal and external customers
Successful candidates will possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- At least 5 years HIM experience, including 3 or more years’ in a management role with progressive responsibilities
- Current RHIA or RHIT certification
- Knowledge of State and Federal laws governing the release of protected health information
- Knowledge of ICD10 diagnostic and procedure coding
- Knowledge of the federal requirements of the Prospective Payment System in the acute inpatient rehab setting
- Knowledge of regulations, accreditation and professional standards of practice for health information management
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to understand and react effectively to the unique needs of customers
- Strong critical thinking, analysis and problem-solving skills
