Sheltering Arms Institute is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team. This position will aid pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care services to patients by assisting in the preparation, dispensing, record keeping, and transporting of medications for all patients including the following age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescence, adult, and geriatric. Under minimal supervision, the incumbent will perform the required duties of a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) II at a high level of proficiency, demonstrating exemplary work behaviors and ownership for the success of the work area. The Technician II is tasked with basic handling and preparation of medications for distribution, as well as medication coordination, compounding, and packaging.
Required Qualifications:
- Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy
- Current certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
- Current certification by National Healthcareer Association’s (NHA’s) ExCPT examination
- One (1) year of pharmacy practice experience in a similar setting
- By virtue of societal trust and security explicitly imparted to pharmacies for the control of drugs, candidate/incumbent must have a clean criminal record (i.e. no felony conviction; no drug or pharmacy related convictions, including misdemeanors; no denial, suspension, revocation, or restriction of registration or licensure by any State Board of Pharmacy
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) year of pharmacy practice experience in a similar setting
