We're seeking a creative, self-starting Videographer and Editor to join our growing video production team. You'll have significant creative freedom while capturing the craftsmanship of timber framing for our social media and marketing efforts. Working from our Shelter campus, you'll split time between editing in the office and capturing footage in our workshop and store. You'll collaborate with our Director of Video Production and on-site Director of Marketing while having the initiative to seek out compelling content opportunities. You will be documenting our in-person classes and our timber frame raisings. While technical skills are important, we value a friendly attitude coupled with a strong ability to work autonomously. - Film and edit compelling short-form content for social media and paid advertising
- Produce, film, and edit a bi-weekly vlog series showcasing Shelter Institute
- Document on-site timber frame builds, in-person classes, and tours
- Assist with editing projects as needed
- Organize and maintain company camera equipment

- Experience with Adobe Premiere & Cloud Suite (or willingness to learn)
- Understanding of social media content strategies, especially Instagram reels
- Self-motivation, initiative, and flexibility
- Familiarity with mirrorless cameras and video equipment
- Physical capability to handle equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work long days on timber frame job sites or online course shoots
- Ability to commute to our Woolwich, ME campus daily
- Availability to travel 6-10 weeks annually for timber frame raisings
- Experience with product/event photography
- Experience with Sony mirrorless ecosystem (FX3, A7iv, etc.)
- DJI drone operating skills
- Basic 3-point lighting setup knowledge
- Interest in woodworking
- A healthy consumption of YouTube and social media content (a little brain rot isn't a bad thing for this role!)
