What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Care Staff position at Shelter-Care Inc?
Want to make a difference in the lives of youth experiencing crisis? Safe Landing Youth Shelter is looking to add to our team in our Akron and Stow, Ohio locations. We are a 24/7 short term crisis shelter for youth ages 11-17 who are experiencing crisis or chronic tension/conflict within their family. Safe Landing is a voluntary program for youth to get a break from home, engage in individual and family counseling with trained clinical staff, and prepare for reunification. Staff provide a safe, warm, and welcoming environment for youth.
We are currently hiring part-time staff for afternoon/evening and overnight shifts. Amount of hours scheduled will depend on the availability of the employee. Two weekend shifts per month are required.
The following is the job description and details for the Direct Care Staff position:
• 21 years of age and older
• Pass all required background checks
• Provide line of sight supervision at all times of youth in care.
• Facilitate Life Skills and Group Activities.
• Help manage office responsibilities including crisis hotline, referrals, intakes, and departures.
• Maintain treatment directives as noted by counselor.
