Promotion Criteria to Assembly Technician - Level 2

Responsibilities
The Industrial Engineer Level - 1 responsibilities include:
- Collaborates with other site personnel (MFG, Quality, Purchasing and Planning, Engineering) to design cost-effective manufacturing layouts while factoring in ergonomics for new and existing product lines.
- Works with other departments to improve design and production standards.
- Designs, redesigns, or enhances work areas and layouts so that awkward or uncomfortable positions, repetitive motions, and inefficient operations are reduced or eliminated.
- Maintains knowledge of best practices in manufacturing methods and trends and in technology and equipment; applies this knowledge to maintain the organization's competitive edge.
- Identifies and assesses various problems and departures from established manufacturing standards and best practices; researches and recommends solutions.
- Trains, coaches, mentors, and oversees manufacturing personnel in best practices and standard operating procedures, in coordination with the area supervisor.
- E nsures processes are designed to meet quality standards; investigates quality defects during the manufacturing process to reduce and eliminate quality defects and improve process capability.
- Implements methods and modifications to reduce production costs; analyzes and evaluates existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
- Implements lean manufacturing principles to optimize operations.
- Conducts time and motion studies and recommends changes for productivity improvement.
- Develops and maintains management information, planning, metrics, and control systems.
- Any other duties assigned by supervision.
