What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Pharmacy Technician or Tech trainee position at SHELIGA DRUG?
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create prescription medication orders from prescription referrals received
- Perform dispensing and shipment of prescription medication orders
- Conduct outbound prescription refill reminder calls and setup orders for delivery along with assist in contacting prescribers and patients via phone and fax
- Investigate insurance billing options to ensure eligibility and coverage for patients
- Prepare and submit claims to ensure timely reimbursement
- Resolve account discrepancies and prepare adjustments and refunds for approval
- Check-in wholesaler drug orders and post into inventory
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Registered Pharmacy Technician preferred, but not required.
- Able to obtain by examination, at minimum, status as a qualified pharmacy technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy within 180 days of hire date
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in pharmacy support preferred
- National PTCB Certification preferred
- Experience in medical billing preferred
- Must successfully pass a BCI&I and FBI background check, drug screen, and register with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy to be eligible for employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Proficient level of operating general office equipment with a strong attention to detail
- Must be dependable, punctual and a team player
Answering and speaking with the patients over the phone calling in prescription refills. Waiting on retail customer patients and patient facing activities.
