East Elementary is seeking a passionate and student-centered Special Education Teacher who is committed to helping every student succeed. This educator will provide individualized instruction, collaborate with staff, and support a strong MTSS framework to ensure all learners reach their full potential.
Student Support & Instruction
- Provide specialized instruction aligned to student IEP goals
- Deliver interventions in both pull-out and push-in settings
- Progress monitor student growth and adjust instruction accordingly
- Support students academically, socially, and behaviorally
IEP Development & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal special education regulations
- Communicate progress regularly with families
Collaboration & MTSS Leadership
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices
- Actively participate in MTSS framework and procedures
- Partner with AEA staff
- Support staff in implementing accommodations and interventions

- Reinforce a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Celebrate student growth and success
Qualifications
- Valid Iowa Teaching License with Special Education endorsement
- Strat II not required, but preferred
