**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing and coding, ensuring accurate and timely submission of medical claims. The ideal candidate will also be dependable and reliable.
**Duties:**
- *Review and verify accuracy of billing data
- *Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies
- *Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
- *Investigate and appeal denied claims
- *Not afraid to pick up the phone and call insurance companies to figure out why claims are denied or what is needed to fix the denial.
- *Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance regulations and guidelines
**Skills**
- *Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- *Knowledge of Medical Billing systems
- *Knowledge of DRG, ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding principles
- *Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- *Ability to interpret medical records accurately
- Excellent problem solving
- *Strong communication skills for interacting with patients and insurance companies
