Bakery Driver

$21 per hour

Purpose of Position

The primary function of a Shelby Donuts Driver is to drive a company issued van for the purpose of delivering and unloading various donut and fresh baked bakery products while providing excellent customer service. It is further required that these functions be completed in a safe manner and in accordance with NYS Department of motor vehicle regulations.

Job Responsibilities

The list below contains tasks that are typically associated with the job. It is not all-inclusive and may vary.

• Load donut carriers onto van.
• Drive to deliver customer orders according to predetermined route.
• Unload products from the van and place in designated customer areas.
• Unload donut carriers when deliveries are complete and back at the bakery.
• Attend all required company meetings and adhere to all safety practices and company policies. Assumes responsibility for the workplace safety of self and co-workers, and for safety conditions of the work location.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or general equivalency degree required.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License
• Meet minimum requirements on pre-employment testing, including physical ability tests and drug screen.
• Ability to read, count accurately, do simple math and write legibly.
• Ability to follow and carry out instructions with minimal supervision.
• Available to work overnight hours and weekends.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance on a ladder and stoop, kneel. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. The employee must be able to work in varying temperatures.
