Position Summary
Responsible for supervisory work involving the assignment and supervision of custodial employees in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of Shelby County buildings.
Pay Grade: 49
Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education
Minimum Qualifications
1. Two (2) years of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity; AND
2. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration, management or a closely related field; OR
3. An equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.
4. PROOF OF EDUCATION; TRAINING; AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Supervises employees assigned to the Shelby County buildings.
2. Develops and makes work assignments.
3. Conducts performance reviews.
4. Administers Memorandum of Understanding for bargaining unit employees.
5. Assists Manager with duties and responsibilities as needed.
6. Ensures all work schedules, time reports and other personnel records are completed and maintained on twenty-four hour/seven days a week basis.
7. Provides employee-related reports to management.
8. Orders and maintains supplies.
9. Oversees work performA149ed by contractors.
10. Performs other related duties as required or directed.
KSAs
1. Knowledge of modern management techniques and the ability to apply them in directing work of others.
2. Working knowledge of Memorandum of Understanding pertaining to bargaining unit employees.
3. Working knowledge of Shelby County Government Personnel Policies & Procedures.
4. Ability to develop timetables, manpower projections and ability to monitor and revise as needed to meet deadlines.
5. Ability to prepare budgets, financial reports and cost analyses.
6. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook and other software.
7. Ability to communicate effectively with the public, other departments in Shelby County and employees.
Special Requirements
1. Must possess a valid Tennessee driver license or secure one by date of employment.
2. Must be available for shift, weekend, and holiday work as required.
