Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Daycare Cook with janitorial responsibilities to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, delicious meals that meet the dietary needs of young children. We also will be utilizing your janitorial skills on a daily basis to keep the overall daycare and cafeteria clean. Cleaning is a big part of this job and attention to detail is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve balanced meals and snacks tailored to the dietary requirements of children up to age five
- Plan menus that incorporate nutritious ingredients and adhere to dietary guidelines
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment and facility
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, and food processors efficiently and safely
- Handle food with care, practicing proper food handling techniques including poaching, braising, grilling, and food production methods
- Assist with food presentation and portioning to ensure appealing meals for young children
- Maintain accurate records of food inventory, meal production, and sanitation practices
Requirements
- Cooking and cleaning experience helpful.
- Knowledge of menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures in a professional kitchen environment
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Experience with food industry standards related to high-volume production and food safety regulations
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in food production and meal service
- A positive attitude with a passion for working with children and contributing to their health through nutritious meals
Pay: $10.50 - $11.50 per hour
