Position Title: Dishwasher
Supervisor: Executive Chef
Employee Status: Seasonal (Full-time & Part-time hours)
Location: On-site (99 Inn Road, Shelburne, VT 05482)
Start & End Date: May 1st - October 31st
Pay Rate: $18.00 - $22/hour
Work Schedule: Monday - Sunday, morning (7:30am - 3pm) and evening (3pm - 11:00pm) shifts available. Flexible full and part time schedule.

The primary role is to ensure a continuous supply of clean dishes, cookware, and flatware, which is essential for the kitchen team to serve visitors at Shelburne Farms.
What You’ll Do
Dish Handling & Cleaning:
Collect soiled dishware from around the kitchen.
Efficiently load and unload the commercial dishwasher.
Perform specialized hand-washing for specific items, as required and trained.
Appropriately store all cleaned dishes, glasses, and kitchen equipment.
Remove and dispose of garbage.
Operational & Maintenance Support:
Inspect and clear the dishwasher of any food debris after use.
Immediately report any mechanical or performance issues with the dishwasher to management.
Team Communication & Workflow Coordination
Maintain active and clear communication with kitchen and front-of-house staff to anticipate high-volume periods and ensure a steady flow of clean dishware during peak service hours.
Collaborate closely with the culinary team during the end-of-shift closing process to ensure all kitchen areas are thoroughly sanitized and ready for the next day's operations.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This is a very fast-paced role, especially during peak dining hours, requiring a high level of attention to detail and efficiency.
Moving around the kitchen area while carrying trays filled with dishes and stemware around the dishwashing area. Trays and heavy pots will weigh up to 40 pounds.
Standing for the entire shift time.
Moving on potentially wet flooring.
