Position Summary
The Social Studies Teacher provides engaging instruction in history, government, economics, and related disciplines through the lens of a biblical worldview. The teacher equips students to think critically, understand cultural movements, and evaluate historical events in light of Scripture while developing strong research, writing, and discussion skills.
Essential Responsibilities
- Design and deliver standards aligned lessons rooted in a Christian worldview.
- Facilitate thoughtful classroom discussion and analytical writing.
- Teach students to evaluate primary and secondary sources with discernment.
- Maintain accurate grades and communicate progress with families.
- Contribute to school culture through mentoring, events, and collaboration.
- Model a life consistent with biblical standards in both personal conduct and professional relationships.
Qualifications
- A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and active involvement in a local evangelical church.
- Agreement with Shekinah Christian School’s statement of faith and commitment to Christian education.
- Bachelor’s degree in History, Social Studies Education, or related field.
- Current Ohio teaching license and or ACSI certification, or willingness to obtain appropriate credentials.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills and ability to build strong relationships with students and families.
- Ability to connect historical content to contemporary issues biblically.
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
