Position Summary
This role is responsible for overseeing the operations of SHEIN return centers (RCs) across the United States. This individual will manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), optimize return center processes, drive efficiencies, and ensure compliance with company standards. The role requires a strong leader who can effectively manage a geographically dispersed team and strategically optimize return center operations to enhance service levels and cost-effectiveness.
Job Responsibilities
1) 3PL Management & Operational Governance
- Own day-to-day relationship with multiple 3PL return sites across the U.S., ensuring alignment with SHEIN operational standards.
- Define and enforce SLA/KPI frameworks, including:
- Receiving to inspection turnaround time
- QC accuracy rate
- Inventory accuracy & shrinkage control
- Return processing cycle time
- Conduct weekly/monthly business reviews with 3PL partners to track performance, identify gaps and drive corrective actions.
- Lead root cause analysis on operational failures and implement improvement plans.
2) Return Operations Excellence (Quality & Efficiency)
- Establish and continuously improve return processing SOPs.
- Ensure consistent execution of quality control standards to minimize customer complaints and returns leakage.
- Drive improvements in processing speed (dock-to-stock time), labor productivity, inspection accuracy etc.
3) Cost Management & Optimization
- Own return center operational budget, including 3PL costs, labor costs, and transportation-related expenses.
- Partner with data team to build forecast models and cost projections based on return volume trends.
4) Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with other departments (e.g., supply chain, customer service, IT) to ensure seamless operations.
- Act as the key point of contact for all return-related operational issues.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 8 years of supply chain/logistics experience with a focus on reverse logistics and return management.
- Experience managing multiple facilities/sites and leading 3PL providers.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-site teams and develop staff at all levels.
- Strong experience in vendor/partner relationship management, including contract negotiations.
- Experience in e-commerce or retail supply chain operations.
- Proven track record of reducing operational costs while improving service levels.
- Certification in Six Sigma, Lean Management, or other process improvement methodologies.
