About the Position
Job Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations Management
1. Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, inventory management, and shipping processes to ensure optimal efficiency and accuracy.
2. Develop and implement warehouse policies, procedures, and safety protocols to maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards.
3. Manage warehouse layout optimization and space utilization to maximize storage capacity and operational flow.
4. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) including order accuracy, productivity rates, and cost per shipment.
5. Coordinate with transportation and logistics teams to ensure timely inbound and outbound shipments.
6. Implement and maintain warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control processes.
7. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
8. Ensure proper handling and storage of products according to manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.
9. Manage vendor relationships and oversee third-party logistics partnerships when applicable.
10. Develop and execute disaster recovery and business continuity plans for warehouse operations.
Others
1. Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse performance metrics to senior management.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, sales, and customer service to support business objectives.
3. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to warehouse operations.
4. Participate in budget planning and cost management activities for the warehouse department.
5. Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior leadership.
Job Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
2. Minimum 8-10 years of progressive warehouse management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing large-scale operations.
3. Proven experience managing teams of 50 employees in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse environment (500,000 sq ft facility preferred).
4. Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SAP or Oracle systems highly preferred.
5. Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement processes.
6. Thorough understanding of OSHA safety regulations, DOT compliance requirements, and warehouse safety best practices.
7. Excellent leadership and team management skills with proven ability to motivate, develop, and retain warehouse staff.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience in data analysis and performance metrics management.
9. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with all organizational levels.
10. Physical ability to work in a warehouse environment and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally; willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
