What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUBSTITUTES NEEDED position at Sheffield City?
SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS
The Sheffield City School District Needs Substitute Teachers, Paraprofessionals, Nurses, Custodians, CNP Workers, and Bus Drivers. The same application will be used for all positions; therefore, you only need to submit one application. After you submit your application:

- Ms. Vandiver will contact you with additional information.

SUBSTITUTE DAILY RATE OF PAY SCHEDULE
2023-2024
CERTIFIED STAFF - $80.00 per day
- Individuals who are a certified teacher will be paid $90.00 per day.
- Individuals in long-term assignments will be paid $120.00 per day after the 20th day.
- Individuals in long-term assignments, who are certified in the area being taught, will be paid $210.00 per day after the 20th day.
SUPPORT STAFF including CNP:
- Category 1 (5.5 hours/day) $10 per hour
- Category 2 (6.5 hours/day) $10 per hour
- Category 3 (8.0 hours/day) $10 per hour
- Category 4 (Certified Teacher) $11 per hour
SCHOOL NURSE
A substitute who holds a RN/LPN license and substitutes for the school’s RN/LPN will be paid $90 per day.
SCHOOL BUS DRIVER
A minimum of $45 for up to 3 hours: $15 per hour for each additional hour.
Substitute must hold a valid Alabama driver license with CDL, and a Bus Driver
Certificate.
