Sheet Metal Apprentice Job Overview
We are seeking motivated, reliable individuals to join our team as Sheet Metal Apprentices. This is a hands-on, earn-while-you-learn opportunity that combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction. Apprentices will learn the skills required to fabricate, install, and maintain a wide variety of sheet metal products used in HVAC systems, architectural applications, industrial systems, and more.
Training also includes welding, giving apprentices the opportunity to learn and perform various welding processes used throughout the trade.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the fabrication and installation of sheet metal ductwork, flashings, roofing systems, and architectural components
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and correctly
- Measure, cut, and assemble sheet metal components according to drawings and specifications
- Learn and practice basic welding techniques as part of on-the-job training
- Work alongside journeypersons to gain skills in layout, welding, fastening, forming, and installation
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Participate in related technical instruction (RTI) and demonstrate progress throughout the apprenticeship
- Support jobsite tasks including material handling, equipment setup, and basic rigging
- Communicate effectively with crew members, supervisors, and customers
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, work at heights, and perform physical labor
- Basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure
- Positive attitude, teamwork skills, and a commitment to safety
- Prior construction or mechanical experience is helpful but not required
- Must meet eligibility requirements for enrollment in an accredited Sheet Metal Apprenticeship Program
Pay: From $22.51 per hour
