Alaska Northstar Resources is actively seeking an Instructional Designer to join their team. The Instructional Designer is a hybrid role that blends traditional curriculum development and training delivery with responsibilities in basic SharePoint administration/design, technical documentation, and contractor compliance management.

Candidate must have at least 5 years’ experience with the following:
Office environment. Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing (100%). Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, and client (100%). Occasional business travel may be required. Only requested and approved expenses will be covered by ANR.

The Instructional Designer is a hybrid role that blends traditional curriculum development and training delivery with responsibilities in basic SharePoint administration/design, technical documentation, and contractor compliance management.
Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To
- Selects or advises in the selection of a technical method and technical components for delivering various types of training content.
- Defines or participates in defining the target audience; conducts need assessments; performs assessment analyses and task analyses and determines training requirements.
- Utilizes home grown SharePoint site to manage trainings and registrations.
- Supervises implementation of the selected delivery methods.
- Develops curriculum, including learning objectives, creates course blueprints, and supervises creation of content.
- Oversees development of courseware, including lesson plans, student guides, instructor guides, user manuals, and tests.
- Evaluates and validates instructional materials.
- Performs trainings remotely (or on-site as needed)
- Collects relevant class data and provides a monthly update with those metrics
- Develops, maintains, and administers Tip Sheets and SharePoint sites for the Center to educate and provide step by step guides on how to utilize various types of software. The software ranges from vendor provided to software produced both locally and at the DHA/DoD levels
- Serves as a SME for testing and developing documentation to support various software initiatives that are usually new to the Center. Often, this results in creating detailed SharePoint sites, tip sheets, and offering training classes on how to use the software.
Minimum Candidate Requirements
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
Candidate must have an active DOD Secret Clearance
Candidate must have at least 5 years’ experience with the following:
- Serving in a training role which required developing the curriculum and all associated training materials and then training the class in both a remote and in-person environment
- Basic SharePoint skills to maintain and develop sites that are list based (not requiring workflows)
- In depth knowledge of Microsoft products to include Office and Teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional Organizational and Time Management skills
- Ability to problem solve and work independently
- Customer-oriented and cool-tempered
- Microsoft Certified Trainer and/or other certified trainer certificates
