Reporting Relationship: Division President
Summary
This position manages the division’s operations department, including construction, safety, quality, warranty, and scheduling personnel. In addition to building and developing processes and procedures designed to strategically support the operations organization; this position must also establish operations’ initiatives for improvement in safety, quality, cost, cost, delivery, customer satisfaction, and employee relations. The role works closely with other vice presidents to meet the divisions goals and enhance the lives of our homeowners and our team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will vary and may include, but are not limited to:
- Establishes operations standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery
- Establishes policies in the areas of materials usage, planning, production scheduling, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations and performance measures
- Directs implementation and execution of consistent policies and practices throughout organization
- Builds, develops and manages operations leadership team capable of carrying out the division’s business plan objectives, customer satisfaction results and team engagement
- Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships across all division departments and external trades, cities, and municipalities
- Communicates regularly with VP, Sales and Marketing, VP, Community Development, VP, Land and finance team on issues affecting the project schedules, budgets, homeowners and team members
- Oversees and ensure compliance with operations budget, including monthly indirect budget review and quarterly business forecasting
- Reviews ongoing performance results to delivery targets with 100% complete homes and takes corrective measures with authorization, escalates, as needed
- Mentors and develops team members across the operations department and recommends salary adjustments, transfers, promotions and dismissals as needed
- Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations across all job sites
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Knowledge/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Familiarity with state and federal OSHA requirements
- Minimum ten years’ operations manager experience in construction
- Computer literate in Microsoft Suite - Excel, Word and Outlook
- BuildPro or related scheduling tools preferred
Skills/Abilities
Ability to perform under pressure and to prioritize multiple projects.
Personal computer experience includes the Microsoft Office Suite: Word for Windows, Excel, MS Project, Outlook and Power Point.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. HOA Board Meetings and Public Hearings will require attendance in the evening hours.

Salary : $180,000 - $200,000
