Job Summary
Shea Electric is seeking a motivated Electrical Apprentice / Electrical Helper with 1–3 years of commercial and industrial electrical experience to join our growing team. This position provides the opportunity to work alongside experienced electricians on a variety of commercial, industrial, and construction projects while continuing to develop technical skills and advance within the electrical trade.
The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, basic knowledge of electrical systems and installation methods, and a commitment to safety, quality, and professional growth. This role offers hands-on experience in electrical construction, troubleshooting, equipment installation, and code-compliant electrical work.
Responsibilities
- Assist electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial electrical systems.
- Install conduit, wire, cable trays, supports, lighting systems, receptacles, panels, and electrical equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Pull wire and cable through conduit systems and assist with terminations and equipment connections.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with low-voltage systems, controls, communication wiring, and specialty electrical systems.
- Support testing and troubleshooting of electrical circuits using multimeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized jobsite while following all company and customer safety requirements.
- Follow NEC requirements, project specifications, and company quality standards.
- Participate in daily safety meetings and identify potential jobsite hazards.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of commercial and/or industrial electrical experience required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Enrollment in or willingness to participate in an electrical apprenticeship program preferred.
- Basic understanding of electrical theory, installation practices, and construction methods.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.
- Experience bending and installing conduit is preferred.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and safe work practices.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, work from ladders and lifts, and perform physical jobsite activities.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Strong communication skills, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.

Pay: $17.50 - $25.50 per hour
