Patient Financial & Treatment Coordinator
Shea Dental | Scottsdale, AZ | On-site
$28–$32 per hour, depending on experience, plus a performance-based bonus opportunity
Help patients understand their treatment, feel comfortable discussing finances, and take the next step toward care.
Shea Dental is a privately owned Scottsdale practice with a whole-body approach to dentistry. We are seeking a warm, confident, organized Patient Financial & Treatment Coordinator to take ownership of treatment presentations, payment discussions, scheduling, and follow-up.
This is a focused treatment-coordination position reporting to our established Office Manager. You will work closely with the doctors and front-office team, with dedicated responsibility for the financial presentation and treatment follow-through process.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Present doctor-recommended treatment plans and fees clearly and accurately.
- Listen to patients’ goals and concerns, answer financial questions, and help patients make informed decisions without pressure.
- Explain estimated insurance benefits, out-of-pocket costs, payment options, and approved third-party financing. Clearly distinguish estimates from guarantees.
- Ask confidently for the next step when a patient is ready, arrange approved payments or deposits, and schedule accepted treatment.
- Follow up consistently with patients who have unscheduled treatment, respecting their preferences and decisions.
- Maintain accurate notes, financial arrangements, and follow-up records.
- Track treatment presented, accepted, scheduled, and collected using consistent definitions.
- Coordinate with the doctors, Office Manager, and patient coordinator; provide front-office support when needed.
WHO WILL DO WELL HERE
- A clear, empathetic communicator who is comfortable discussing significant treatment costs.
- Strong consultative sales, patient service, organization, and follow-through skills.
- Dental treatment-coordination experience is strongly preferred. Experience in implants, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, oral surgery, or comprehensive general dentistry is especially relevant.
- Experience explaining payment plans or third-party financing and working with dental practice software.
- Evidence of helping patients move from consultation to scheduled care while maintaining trust.
- A collaborative approach and comfort working within established policies and an Office Manager-led team.
COMPENSATION
- $28–$32 per hour, depending on experience.
- Performance-based bonus opportunity; plan details will be discussed during interviews.
LOCATION
11111 N. Scottsdale Road, Suite 120, Scottsdale, AZ 85254.

Submit your resume through this posting and include brief answers to these questions:
- What is the largest dental treatment plan you have personally presented, and what was your role in helping the patient decide? Please do not include patient-identifying information.
- How would you respond to a patient who wants recommended treatment but says they cannot afford it?
- Which treatment-coordination metrics have you tracked, and how were they measured?
