Position Overview
GAMP is seeking a highly qualified Licensed Architect to lead the architectural design and permitting process for the conversion of an existing warehouse facility into a large-scale manufacturing and assembly plant.
The Architect will be responsible for developing design concepts, preparing permit-ready drawings, coordinating with engineering disciplines (MEP, Electrical, Structural, Fire Protection), and supporting the construction process through project completion.
This role is critical to ensuring that all design work complies with Georgia building codes, industrial safety standards, and client operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design Leadership & Planning
- Develop overall design intent for the manufacturing conversion project.
- Create master layout concepts, space planning, and workflow optimization.
- Coordinate architectural scope with MEP, Electrical, Structural, and Fire Protection teams.
- Perform field surveys and site condition assessments.
2. Architectural Drawings & Documentation
- Prepare full architectural drawing sets, including:
- Floor plans
- Reflected ceiling plans
- Door & window schedules
- Wall sections and construction details
- Life safety and egress plans
- Ensure ADA compliance and adherence to relevant building standards (IBC, NFPA, state amendments).
3. Code Compliance & Permitting
- Conduct zoning, occupancy classification, and code analysis.
- Prepare permit-ready drawing packages for City/County/Fire Marshal submission.
- Respond to plan review comments and revise drawings as required.
- Apply architectural stamp (GA License Required) on all official documents.
4. Engineering Coordination
- Lead cross-disciplinary coordination with:
- Mechanical / HVAC engineers
- Electrical engineers (including power upgrade design)
- Plumbing engineers
- Fire protection engineers
- Structural engineers
- Resolve layout conflicts and ensure consistency across all drawings.
5. Construction Support
- Provide construction-phase support including RFIs, submittal reviews, and periodic site visits.
- Verify field conditions align with design intent.
- Participate in inspections and assist with final punch lists.
6. Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Attend design meetings and present progress updates.
- Prepare written reports, design narratives, and technical documentation.
- Communicate clearly with GAMP leadership, GC partners, and City officials.
Qualifications:
Required
- Registered Architect (RA) with Georgia Architectural License.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in commercial, industrial, or manufacturing facility projects.
- Proven experience with permit drawings and code compliance in Georgia.
- Strong competency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and code research tools.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Knowledge of IBC, NFPA, ADA, and industrial safety standards.
Preferred
- Experience with automotive, battery, or assembly plant projects.
- Experience with high-power electrical infrastructure and industrial MEP systems.
- Familiarity with fast-track or pre-permit construction processes.
- Ability to produce 3D conceptual renderings (SketchUp/Revit preferred).
- Korean/English bilingual ability is a plus, but not required.
Contract Type
- Full-time or Contract-based (6–12 months)
