Farm Market Team Member

Job Summary

The Farm Market Team Member performs a variety of essential tasks including produce handling, merchandising, stocking, cleaning, and—most importantly—delivering excellent customer service. This role supports both produce and retail areas of Shawnee Springs Market.

Location: Shawnee Springs Market – Cross Junction
Reports to: Store Manager / Corporate Operations
Employment Type: Full-Time, Hourly

Job Requirements

1. Team Responsibilities

• Greet each customer with a smile and provide friendly, helpful service.
• Operate the registers efficiently and accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked checkout counter.
• Minimize shortages in your assigned cash drawer and prepare it for the next day.
• Maintain and rotate sampling stations throughout the farm market.

2. Produce Attendant Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain all produce displays throughout Shawnee Springs Market.
• Sort, stock, and clean produce displays as needed in all locations.
• Notify a forklift operator of produce needs before supplies run out.
• Keep pig buckets clean; wash and scrub or dispose of broken buckets.
• Sweep and occasionally wash the front porch to ensure a clean, inviting environment.

3. Inside Retail Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain all gift and merchandise displays.
• Keep merchandise displays full, attractive, and properly organized.
• Sweep, dust, and remove trash regularly throughout your shift.
• Prepare displays for the day by turning on illuminated signs, pictures, and related décor.
• Restock, re-face, and rotate all Shawnee Brand products to ensure freshness and quality.
• Cross-train to perform both farm market and retail duties effectively.

4. Additional Duties

• Perform any other tasks assigned by the manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to interact effectively with the public.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Previous retail, produce, or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to make changes correctly.

Additional Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; current high school students are welcome to apply.
• Capability to lift or move 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods of time.
