Responsibilities
- Enforce local, state, and federal laws by conducting patrols, traffic stops, and investigations.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, accidents, and incidents requiring immediate attention.
- Conduct criminal investigations by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses and suspects, and documenting findings through detailed report writing.
- Utilize surveillance techniques and technology to monitor suspicious activity and prevent crime.
- Provide first aid and CPR when necessary to assist injured individuals until medical professionals arrive.
- Manage conflict situations with professionalism and effective conflict management skills to de-escalate tensions.
- Perform security checks at designated locations to deter theft, vandalism, or other unlawful activities.
- Handle animals safely when encountered during patrols or investigations, including animal care when appropriate.
- Apply knowledge of immigration law and loss prevention strategies to support community safety initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and investigations for reporting purposes.
- Demonstrate leadership by mentoring new officers and collaborating effectively with team members and community partners.
Qualifications
- Valid law enforcement certification or academy training completion is required.
- Proven experience in criminal investigation, report writing, and law enforcement procedures.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate others and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of surveillance techniques, security protocols, and conflict management strategies.
- Ability to perform driving duties safely over long shifts in various weather conditions.
- First aid certification including CPR is highly desirable.
- Experience in military service or related fields such as security or animal handling is a plus.
