Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecological care
- Conduct office consultations and wellness exams
- Support labor and delivery at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale
- Collaborate with OB/GYN physicians, nurses, and support staff
- Educate and counsel patients on reproductive health, pregnancy, and postpartum care
- Utilize integrated behavioral health services, care coordination, and case management
Position Overview:
- Join a close-knit group of 5 Certified Nurse Midwives and 1 OB/GYN Physician
- Call schedule of 1 night per week and 1/5 weekends
- Call-sharing with a group of 5 physicians
- Work in a supportive, patient-centered environment with a strong focus on holistic care
Requirements:
- Passionate about providing exceptional care to women at all stages of life
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate and up-to-date electronic health records
- Commitment to Shawnee Health’s mission and values
Education & Training:
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nurse Midwifery
- Certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Certified Nurse Midwife in Illinois
- Current DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License

Standard Benefits for Physicians, Dentists, and Midlevel Practitioners
- Shawnee Health offers 280 hours for full time practitioners for each full fiscal year of employment for vacations, holidays, sick leave, continuing education or other absences from the practice. At the end of any employment year, a portion of unused Leave days may be carried forward to the next year or you may opt to take the cash value of the unused Leave days.
- Productivity Incentives: Shawnee offers select physicians, dentists, and midlevel practitioners’ merit and productivity incentives based negotiated contractual terms related to net collections and/or total encounters.
- Merit Bonus: Shawnee offers select physicians, dentists, and midlevel practitioners’ productivity incentives based on negotiated criteria.
- Continuing Education (CE) Allocation: physicians, dentists, and midlevel practitioners receive an annual CE allocation.

Base Compensation:
Pay Range: $95,000-110,000
The listed salary range reflects average compensation based on experience. Candidates with exceptional qualifications or experience are encouraged to apply, as compensation may be adjusted accordingly.
