Overview

Work is well underway in Brownsville, TX! This is a Project-Specific Assignment (PSA) opportunity with the potential to transition into a full-time role based on project needs and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Set expectations, provide structure and create site specific programs and trainings (when necessary) for and with our superintendent and subcontractors
  • Raise awareness of potential hazards that exist on the job-site with the Shawmut staff, subcontractors and the owner by reviewing what can be done to minimize risk from pre-construction through close-out.
  • Conduct regular safety audits throughout the duration of the project assessing all safety related issues, communicating directly with team members to discuss concerns and perform the necessary follow up to meet Shawmut expectations
  • Maintain the information technology and systems that are essential to capture and analyze key data, present reporting and communicate effectively while maintaining strong relationships with every member of the project team.
  • Conduct new hire safety orientations for incoming construction operations staff as well as provide training on topics such as OSHA certification (10 & 30 hour), First Aid, construction specific requirements and new standards review.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in construction safety management or a related role with a general contractor
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA construction standards as well as an authorized OSHA 500 trainer
  • Good working knowledge with construction safety software.
  • Bachelors Degree required or equivalent experience preferred
  • Must be First Aid and CPR qualified (or within 1 year of hire)
  • Capable of delivering all other compliance based training including First Aid, CPR and Life Safety
  • MUST be a commutable distance to Brownsville, Texas.

Salary Range Information

Texas Salary Range: $75,000 – $115,000 base salary. The range stated is specific to Texas. Placement within the listed range depends on many factors including, but not limited to, years of experience, project size capability (for Construction & Field roles), and internal company equity. This role is eligible for a 25% shift premium for 2nd (night) shift hours, which is applied to the base salary.
