Responsibilities
- Perform machine setup and monitor for safety (check for loose wires, covers, etc.) to ensure proper working order and report any improper operations or faulty equipment to leadership.
- Receive and examine production work orders for accuracy (e.g., color, foam thickness, fabric width) prior to labeling and forwarding to the shipping department.
- Conduct both automated and manual quality inspections of fabric goods to identify any defects (e.g., wrinkles, bubbles, creases, thickness issues).
- Report any non-compliance with customer specifications or fully rejectable roles to supervisor and/or QC team.
- Mark any standard defects directly on fabric and log them in the system accordingly.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area (sweep around the machine, stack tubes, wipe down machine).
- Meet production standards and quotas as set by leadership.
- Complete reporting at the end of each shift.
- Provide continued guidance and training to more junior team members.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to focus on repetitive tasks; manufacturing experience required.
- Flexibility to work with various teams, shifts, and products; willingness to be cross trained.
- Detail-oriented with basic math skills.
- Strong sense of pride in work quality; proactive in identifying and reporting issues Shawmut.
- Ability to work well both independently and with others.
- Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance; some overhead lifting required.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to distinguish colors; correctable eyesight to 20/20 within 10 feet.
