What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Social Worker position at Shawano County?

Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Behavioral Health Division Manager, provides specialized professional psychotherapy and/or counseling to individuals; develops and implements an individualized treatment plan for individuals; develops other community resources to be used in implementing a treatment plan; and has the ability to provide AODA assessments and counseling. Ability to provide integrated therapy services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Intake and assessment: Gather information on individuals, families or children, presenting problem and history, provide diagnosis and treatment recommendations. Gather family information about family, legal and employment history.
-Assessment: Gather pertinent information about the individual’s past and present use and abuse of mood-altering substances through the use of various diagnostics testing which includes the MAST, MacAndrews, NCS, SUDDS, ASAM or UPC. Etc. to arrive at the appropriate diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
-Participate in staffing: Presentation of individuals, families, or children’s intakes, diagnosis recommendations and discharges. Accept assignment of individual cases as directed. Elicit input from clinical staff members regarding treatment provisions and diagnosis.
-Provide treatment to individuals and groups, including development of treatment plan, which should include goals and methods to be used by therapist. Identify most appropriate treatment technique for individuals, i.e., cognitive restructuring, behavior modification, assertiveness training. Provide individuals with resources to solve his/her chemical dependency problem by the use of an individualized treatment plan.
-Case Management: To link and coordinate individuals with other service agencies and resources to assist the individual in completing their treatment program.
-Monitor individual treatment progress. Listen, observe, assess, and provide information as needed to the individual. Determine need for hospitalization as needed. Determine needs for psychiatric or psychological evaluation.
-Consultation: Reviewing individual treatment progress, updating treatment plans, and asking for assistance in treatment techniques when needed with consulting psychologist, psychiatrist, or AODA supervisor via supervision or clinical staff meeting.

-Complete necessary paperwork, i.e., treatment plans, treatment reviews, progress notes, intakes, staffing notes, consultation notes, collateral contacts, medical assistance prior authorizations, insurance requests, release of information forms, discharge summaries, etc. Maintain consumer records in compliance with certification standards.
-Provide alcohol and drug testing to assist treatment recommendations and progress.
-Provide Mental Health and AODA outpatient counseling to satellite offices on an as needed basis.
-Participate in in-house training and staff development programs. Identify training needs and utilize agency policies to assess training when appropriate.
-Provides evidence-based assessments of individuals referred to the Drug Court Program to determine eligibility, as well as provides outpatient treatment curriculum required to address the high risk/high needs participants of the program. -Participates as a member of the Shawano County Drug Court Team, sharing expertise in areas related to treatment planning, treatment progress, and prognosis for individuals enrolled in the drug court program.
-Perform public relation functions, such as speaking before community group to educate and inform about department services and mental health issues and AODA issues.
-Perform other related duties and participates in special projects.

Requirements:
-Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field.

-Continuing education credits as prescribed by the Wisconsin Administrative Code and the Department of Regulation and Licensing.

-Completion, or in process of completing, of three thousand (3000) hours of clinical experience supervised by a psychiatrist or a licensed Ph.D. Clinical Psychologist, LPC-IT’s & LMFT-IT’s.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $66,372.80 - $85,342.40 per year
