Position Overview

Responsibilities
Operate computer controlled tile cutter to cut rolled carpet into tiles of various shapes and sizes.
Monitor and align carpet to ensure productivity and quality.
Understand ODCP and verify line up with associates at beginning of shift and when lineup changes.
Assist in changing cutting dies.
Assist in trouble shooting the cutter.
Perform pre-shift checks.
Understand small roll procedure to avoid top-outs.
Understand changeover procedure.
Record events on cutters log and distribute as necessary.
Know when to adjust cutting speed.
Ensure production rates are achieved.
Operate palletizing robot and pallet wrapper.
Act as safety coordinator for the team.
Organize and lead safety conversations.
Conduct safety audits and safety walk-through of the process and or plant.
Be a champion of safety and provide safety support as necessary.
Help lead team through the BBS process and maintain board on daily basis. Lead and encourage team in group stretches.
Ensure proper lockout procedures are followed as necessary.
Lead by example by working safely, reporting incidents, and providing feedback when necessary.
Understand and support the P.I. system.
Participate in improvement activities (e.g. Kaizen, WPIT, etc)
Other Tasks As Required Or Requested.
Assist in keeping the entire facility clean.
Maintain a neat and orderly work space.
Serve as a member of a team, attend and actively participate in meetings (could be before or after shift) and work toward team goals.
Participate in team building activities as planned.
Provide respectful feedback to team members as necessary.
Expected to ‘flow to work’ to service customers and business needs.
Gain and maintain all necessary skills to perform jobs as assigned.
Attend all training classes as scheduled for individual and team development. Safely complete other assigned duties as needed.
Requirements
Verbally communicate in English with team members about team needs and daily/weekly goals; participate in team meetings, provide feedback and contribute to team’s goals.
Pass color blindness test.
Use computer systems and software as needed for the position.
Comply with all required OSHA, SAFE, and plant specific safety rules and regulations.
Preferred: Manufacturing experience preferred. Tile Cutting or continues line experience preferred.
