Inventory Specialist, Food Services

Shattuck-St. Mary’s School, an independent college-prep boarding school located in Faribault, Minnesota is seeking an Inventory Specialist to work within it’s Food Services Department.

POSITION SUMMARY

Receives, stores, distributes, stocks and performs inventory of all food services departmental supplies. Responsible for maintaining organization and sanitation in storage areas. Starting pay is $17.00/hour.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receives, unloads, and stores foods and supplies delivered to Food Services, and rotates stock to ensure freshness
• Inspects and verifies that incoming orders are acceptable and correspond with shipping invoices.
• Ensures that food items are properly stored and maintained in accordance with applicable state, federal, and local health ordinances and regulations.
• Monitors food storage equipment and ensures that corrective action is taken to prevent spoilage of supplies.
• Secures designated areas of potential theft, dangerous chemicals, supplies and equipment to safeguard employees.
• Performs various cleaning tasks within department.
• Assists with routine inventory of food and supplies.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Read, write, and follow written and oral instructions
• Understand and read shipping documents, invoices, and requisitions
• Perform basic mathematical calculations
• Lift and carry 40 pounds regularly, 80 pounds occasionally
• Stand for long periods of time
• Be self-motivated
• Pass criminal background check
• Authorized to work in the US
• Work as part of a TEAM in a busy kitchen

ServSafe food handling certification and experience with food ordering/inventory systems preferred, but not required.
