What are the responsibilities and job description for the Histotechnician position at Shasta Pathology Associates?
The Histology Technician assists in the processing of specimen samples for pathology examination. Histology Technicians work under the supervision of the AP Laboratory Manager and/or Medical Director or a pathologist.
Tasks include perform routine and special procedures as authorized by the department supervisor.
Organize specimen samples for processing and testing to ensure proper patient specimen identification including labeling of all cassettes, slides and other containers as necessary.
Accurately embeds and cuts tissues according to policies and procedures.
Performs routine H&E stains and special stains
Perform immunoperoxidase procedures.
Maintains processors, strainers, coverslippers and embedding equipment
and specimen disposal.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
