Today our team works together to realize a fifteen-year vision to provide 21st Century amenities to
empower and encourage cycling excellence and trail tourism to raise Redding and Shasta County
into the ranks of top places for active, healthy living. We do this in partnership with State of
California, City of Redding and local and regional transportation agencies for the additional urgent
need to achieve goals of greenhouse gas reductions in transportation.
Shasta Living Streets is a local community-based organization, 501c3 nonprofit. Founded in 2010.
We operate the Shasta Bike Depot, Redding Bikeshare, and the bike parking station. We host
public events and conferences, and manage public engagement processes for local and regional
planning projects. We have created a social and practical mobility hub for local residents and trail
enthusiasts, and visitors from out of town.
LEAD BIKE TECHNICIAN
Shasta Living Streets is looking for an energetic, self-motivated maintenance technician to join the
team. We promote self-confidence, decision making, and skill development for our staff.
We’re a small but mighty team. You will have both the opportunity and the responsibility to be a
part of building the Shasta Bike Depot and Redding Bikeshare vision and executing it day-to-day.
• Willingness to learn new skills and innovative new data tracking systems
• Bikeshare bike mechanical maintenance, and bike fleet management and balancing
• Bikeshare dock mechanical and technical review and adjustments
• Customer service & special event support
A variety of duties in this position – some duties consistent on a daily basis, others vary throughout
the month and seasons of the year
• Bike maintenance: two-week inspections, basic repairs, monthly full-review
• Using multiple online databases to track: bike usage, maintenance schedules, parts inventory
• Electric battery swapping bikes and docks
• Retrieving and delivering bikes by pedal-assist trike bike
• Customer interaction with people who love the bikeshare system, answering questions and
offering help to new users. Sometimes assisting people who are unfamiliar with phone Apps.
• Maintaining docking stations – data updates, troubleshooting, replacing parts and batteries
• Installation and removal of docks, including online data connectivity
