Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Material Handler / Material Scheduler / Inventory Specialist to support our manufacturing and operations team. This role is responsible for material movement, inventory accuracy, production scheduling support, and ensuring materials are available to meet production demands.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment and understands the importance of inventory control, timely material flow, and cross-department coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Material Handling:
- Receive, inspect, and stage incoming materials and components
- Move raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to appropriate locations
- Prepare materials for production, kitting, and work orders
- Load/unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hoists (as required)
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized storage areas
Material Scheduling
- Coordinate material availability to support production schedules
- Monitor production demand and ensure materials are staged on time
- Communicate shortages, delays, or issues to purchasing and production teams
- Assist with production planning and material forecasting
- Track material usage and update schedules accordingly
Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP/MRP or inventory systems
- Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventories
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Label, track, and organize materials for traceability
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for inventory accuracy
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical or supply chain education a plus)
- 2 years of experience in material handling, inventory, or manufacturing operations
- Experience with ERP/MRP or inventory management systems preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and work in an industrial environment
- Basic computer skills (Excel, inventory software, scanners)
Preferred Skills
- Manufacturing or industrial equipment environment experience
- Understanding of production workflows and BOMs
- Experience with scheduling or supply chain coordination
- Lean manufacturing or 5S knowledge
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
