Title: Distribution Warehouse Assistant; Full-time
Day shift M-Th. 10 hr days 6:00 am - 4:30 pm
Reporting Structure: Report to Distribution Warehouse Manager
Summary/Overview: General warehouse work in freezer - includes receiving product, picking orders, and loading/unloading trucks. May include work in cooler and dry areas or any work directed by Manager.
Essential Job Functions: Follow directions from Warehouse Manager. Required to take Forklift Safety Operator Training Program. Paperwork responsibility – Purchase Orders. Responsible for keeping warehouse clean and free of debris. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that gets along well with vendors, truck drivers, co-workers, and managers. Exercise honesty, integrity, and respect with all vendors, truck drivers, co-workers, and managers. Have willingness and ability to be cross-trained. Use good judgment and common sense. Follow rules of conduct and safety and observe all company policies.
Qualifications: Knowledge of how to properly and safely operate warehouse equipment (must be 18 and trained in order to use power driven equipment). Ability to plan and organize orders and pick them correctly to completion. Good interpersonal skills, effective communication, and desire to work in a team environment.. Maintain productivity levels at or above company standards. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Machines/Tools/Equipment: Forklift, floor cleaner, shrink wrapper, pallet jack, box cutter, calculator and copy/scanner
Working Conditions: Involves lifting, bending, standing, walking, carrying and stacking of product. Required to push, pull, grasp, reach with arms, lift and carry cases of grocery items for up to 10 hours as follows: 10-35 lbs. constantly; 35-50 lbs. regularly; and over 50 lbs. intermittently. Must be able to work in freezer and cooler temperatures for extended periods of time.
