Job Overview
The Quality Inspector is responsible for keeping records of all products received at Alpha Oil Tools. The receivers verifies incoming shipments by counting components, verifying and compiling paperwork, and storing that information into the database when required. They also manage the raw material yard. The QIR must have experience in inspection methods, quality control operations and quality management systems experience with emphasis on API Q1 QMS and API 11D1 program requirements. They must have a basic understanding of machining and production operations in addition to NDE/NDT, metrology, non-conformance root cause analysis and corrective action, risk analysis and change management.
They are responsible for reporting and taking action on NCR and CPARs, maintaining the quality records, receiving and inspecting incoming goods, and assisting with internal and external audits. They support production by occasionally operating the machines, covering for others and assisting management as directed.
They are detail-oriented, willing to learn, able to follow instructions, work with others, and ensure that all safety and quality requirements are followed in their area including reporting incidents and observations. They lead the efforts to maintain tidy work areas and follow detailed instructions in order to meet safety and quality requirements of Alpha Oil Tools.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Unpacks all shipment deliveries.
· Ensures products received meets all purchase order and engineering requirements.
· Verifies counts of all items received.
· Verifies all records are submitted for quality control review.
· Inputs required data into the database.
· Monitoring and reporting on all activities, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance to Alpha requirements.
· Responsible for inputting all relevant quality and in process inspection data into ProShop/Part Level.
· Assists with the development of company processes and procedures.
· Providing departments with quality planning and support.
· Conducting or assisting with regulatory and quality training sessions.
· Preparing and maintaining quality management documentation.
· Ensure accuracy and completion of time tracking on ProShop.
· Understand the use and care of basic metrology, (i.e. micrometers, etc.) and ensure all devices in area are calibrated and personnel qualified.
· Understand and read blueprints, i.e. part views, definitions and footnotes and make recommendation for improvement for manufacturing and processes.
· Identify any defective items and handle according to established procedures.
· Operate various machinery including booms, cameras, cranes, and forklifts to handle materials and inventory.
· Assists with internal and external audits.
· Maintain a clean and tidy workspace (5S).
· Meet all safety, environmental, and quality requirements of Alpha Oil Tools.
· Ability to use reason to solve problems as they arise
· Ability to stand for long periods of time
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
· High School Diploma/GED.
· Combination of additional education and experience of 2 years in Quality.
· Demonstrated ability to use metrology equipment including their calibration and verification and demonstrated ability to utilize the required computer software is required.
· Evidence and demonstrated ability indicating a general understanding of API Q1 and API 11D1.
· Aptitude for math, problem-solving, computers, and mechanics.
· Attention to detail.
· Ability to lead, work and communicate well with others.
· Ability to use hand tools, measurement tools and NDE/NDT devices required.
· Willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
