About the Role
We are looking for a skilled CNC Mill Setup Machinist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and running complex multi-axis CNC milling operations, working closely with our programming and quality teams to deliver precision parts on time.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate 3-axis CNC mills; experience with 4-axis and 5-axis setups highly valued
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints and GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2009
- Execute CNC programs generated in Mastercam and CAMWorks; ability to make minor program edits at the machine is a plus
- Work with Fanuc controls to optimize machining operations
- Oversee complex setups and provide clear written and verbal instructions to machinists
- Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and support SPC processes; assist with fixture and tooling design as needed
- Participate in the build of complex prototypes, fixtures, and assemblies
- Manage job scheduling, personnel performance, and on-time delivery
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Scheduling to ensure smooth workflow
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment and properly store tooling and equipment
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of CNC mill setup experience (3-axis)
- Fanuc control experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2009)
- Familiarity with Mastercam and/or CAMWorks output
- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead and instruct a machining team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience setting up 4-axis and 5-axis CNC mills
- Experience setting up horizontal machining centers
Compensation & Benefits
