The IT Project Manager for the AMI 2.0 Program will support various phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and project closure for the Advanced Metering Infrastructure initiative.
This position is responsible for coordinating project tasks, tracking progress, scheduling meetings, and assisting with documentation and reporting. The Project Manager will help facilitate business process mapping and gather requirements to ensure alignment with functional needs and technical delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain project schedules and monitor task completion.
- Support team communication and coordinate with vendors under supervision.
- Assist in preparing resource plans and tracking effort and cost estimates across workstreams.
- Support solution design activities across integration, data, infrastructure, and testing.
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, and work breakdown structures.
- Coordinate project activities across technical and business teams.
- Ensure alignment with milestones and deliverables.
- Track scope against baseline requirements and support change control processes.
- Document scope changes, assess impacts, and escalate risks when necessary.
- Ensure traceability between requirements, design, and deliverables.
- Broad IT infrastructure knowledge with the ability to see the “big picture.”
- Experience supporting large enterprise initiatives across scope, schedule, budget, and risk management.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in dashboards and reporting (Excel and analytics tools).
- Experience in solution blueprinting, implementation planning, and end-to-end delivery management.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, large program environment.
- Strong business and technical acumen to bridge stakeholder and technology gaps.
- Proficiency in data analysis using MS Excel and Pivot Tables.
- Ability to execute daily PM tasks while also overseeing and delegating work.
- Adaptability, openness to feedback, and willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
- Experience with AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) or Electric Utility technology projects.
- Exposure to AMI 1.0 or 2.0 implementations.
- Experience with system integrations (MDMS, head-end systems, OMS, SAP, ADMS).
- Familiarity with cloud migration (on-prem to cloud environments).
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or related disciplines (including Liberal Arts majors).
