We are hiring independent IT professionals for a WLC deployment project across multiple locations. This is a ticket-based / on-call opportunity—not a full-time role—ideal for freelancers and field engineers looking for flexible work.
Project Location:
South Burlington, VM
You will be responsible for onsite installation, connectivity, and support activities related to Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) deployments across multiple sites in California
Role Responsibilities:
- Rack & stack and structured cabling
- Install 2 x Cisco 9800 WLCs per site
- Perform fiber connectivity, SFP installation, and patching (fiber & Ethernet)
- Execute power/network cross-connections and validate switchports
- Stage equipment before cutover
- Support remote teams during cutover and validate installations
- Decommission legacy WLCs (40–50% sites), including packing and return preparation
Project Scope:
- On-call / ticket-based assignments (no guaranteed hours)
- 1 site per day (small/medium sites)
- Weekend work for larger sites
Tools & Requirements:
- Must have: console cable, hotspot, label maker, rack screws
- Should arrange (cost reimbursable): SFP modules, fiber patch cords, Ethernet patch cords
- Strong hands-on experience in networking, cabling, and field support
Ideal Candidate:
- Freelance / independent IT engineer
- Background in network implementation, smart hands, or cabling
- Able to work independently onsite and coordinate with remote teams
