Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
- Perform intake procedures, including gathering patient information and verifying prescriptions.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and educating patients about their medications.
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration and inventory management.
- Utilize aseptic technique for IV infusion preparation and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care in acute care settings.
- Apply medical terminology knowledge to interpret prescriptions and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
- Support critical care initiatives by assisting in the preparation of specialized medications.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Pharmacy Technician certificate preferred.
- Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to pharmacy practice.
- Familiarity with IV infusion techniques and aseptic practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of acute care processes and medication administration protocols.
- Critical thinking skills to assist in problem-solving within the pharmacy workflow.
