Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organized Front Office Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while efficiently managing administrative tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of medical office operations, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and excellent communication skills.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression
- Answer multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy, utilizing proper phone etiquette
- Schedule patient appointments using EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or Dentrix
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures
- Collect patient payments and perform medical collections as needed
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently
- Review and update medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Maintain accurate filing of medical records and other administrative documents
- Support office management tasks including data entry, typing (10 key typing), and use of Microsoft Office applications
- Coordinate with clinical staff regarding patient care plans and intake procedures
- Ensure the clinic environment remains organized and compliant with health information management standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with health information management standards including HIPAA compliance
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and office management software.
- Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and communication abilities
- Office experience involving clerical support, front desk operations, filing, and appointment scheduling preferred
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
