Are you an experienced stylist who loves working with kids and is ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for a talented, dependable leader to help run our growing salon!
Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids in Sarasota is looking for a full-time Assistant Manager & Lead Stylist to work alongside our Salon Manager to lead the team, deliver outstanding customer service, and keep daily operations running smoothly.
We’re growing quickly, and we need someone who takes pride in their work, leads by example, and wants to be part of a successful, team-oriented salon. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys cutting hair just as much as helping a team succeed.

What You’ll Do
Help Lead the Salon
- Partner with the Salon Manager to oversee daily salon operations
- Serve as the lead on shifts when the Salon Manager is not present
- Help guide, support, and motivate stylists and salon staff
- Lead by example through professionalism, dependability, and a positive attitude
Deliver an Outstanding Customer Experience
- Provide quality haircuts and styling services for children
- Ensure every child and parent receives friendly, professional service
- Help resolve customer concerns and maintain high service standards
- Build relationships with families and encourage repeat visits
Oversee Daily Operations
- Monitor inventory and supplies to ensure the salon stays stocked and organized
- Help maintain cleanliness, organization, and salon standards
- Support scheduling, opening and closing procedures, and daily workflow as needed
- Communicate operational needs and staffing concerns to the Salon Manager
- Help maintain a positive, productive, and professional team environment
What We’re Looking For

Active Florida Cosmetology or Barber License – required
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong haircutting skills and a commitment to quality
- A natural ability to work with children and help them feel comfortable
- Dependability, initiative, and the ability to make sound decisions independently
- Someone organized, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of responsibilities
- A team player who can lead by example and hold themselves and others to high standards
Schedule & Availability
- Full-time position, typically 5 days per week
- Weekend availability required
- Must be available to lead salon operations when the Salon Manager is not present
